“Painting Japan in Watercolor” will be a series of four classes using images of Japanese landscapes or cultural objects. Participants can choose to use either traditional Japanese Sumi-e watercolor paints and masa paper or the western style watercolors we are more familiar with. The class, hosted by artist Michelle Thomas, will focus on simplifying the composition to emulate the Japanese aesthetic. Photographs will be provided or participants may bring their own images.
